Abstract

Background. Silvopastoral systems (SSP) are of interest for the coexistence between animal production, biodiversity and birdlife. Objective. Was to carry out a bibliometric analysis of the contribution of silvopastoral systems in livestock farming production and birdlife conservation. Methodology. Sixty-nine documents were analyzed from journal databases such as Scopus, Web of Knowledge, ISI Web of Science, Science Direct, REDALYC, SPRINGER Link, Research Gate, among other international databases, through keywords such as “livestock”, “avifauna”, ‘conservation’ and “silvopastoral systems” to ensure greater relevance between silvopastoral systems, livestock and conserve birdlife. Main findings. From the documents analyzed between 1985 and 2020, silvopastoral systems showed an increase in livestock productivity, ecosystem quality and birdlife conservation. Implications. The analysis allows expanding the knowledge and importance of silvopastoral systems in the conservation of the environment and plant and animal biodiversity. Conclusions. SSP are an alternative to the constant loss of biodiversity, since they favor the integration of livestock, birdlife and environment.

Keywords
