Dorcas kagwiria is an agronomist and she works with Sprohav Agronomy LTD as a senior field agronomist in Nairobi, Kenya. She is also a part time lecturer at the university of Nairobi. She received her B.sc in Horticulture in 2015 from the University of Nairobi and she is currently pursuing her M.sc in Agronomy from the same institution. Dorcas is carrying out a research on “Effect of Organic and Inorganic Fertilizer Regimes on Grain Sorghum (sorghum bicolor l. moench) Growth, Yield and Feed Quality”. The project focuses on increasing sorghum productivity for both food and feeds through the use of appropriate agronomic practices in order to meet the current increase in demand for grain sorghum and as well as to increase food security in the country. Dorcas is also a writer and is currently working on “While you Wait” series which can be accessed at her blog. She has offered several mentorship programs including talking to high school students from various schools. Some of the areas of training include: counseling students on sexuality, spirituality, education. She currently resides in Nairobi, Kenya with her family.
