Abstract

Development of genomic biotechnology for animal sciences has been promoted as a main reality in Mexico. Their objectives are focused in technique and methodology development and application for livestock production improvement. The present review define the concept of genomics and how the knowledge of the molecular tools may help to livestock systems (focused in beef cattle systems), their production and quality of their products, and present some perspectives of currently application.
