Abstract

In this work was studied the phenology of zapote mamey [Pouteria sapota (Jacq.) H.E. Moore & Stearn] in Alpoyeca, Gro. Mameyʼs phenological events are not characterized, and hence: number of shoots, diameter of shoots and diameter of branch were measured. As a result 13 events were identified, from the first event, we have the appearance of a floral shoot with a dome, of 0.05 mm of diameter, until the event 13, when the tree is filling the fruit of carbohydrates. It was consider as critical points events 9 and 10, because of the process of pollination and fruit fecundation. The highest averages of shoots appearance by branch was between the months of July, August and September, later a fall of floral shoots is observed. In average of 0 to 3 fruits are left by branch.
